Hammer Down Beagles is located in Beaver Dam, Kentucky, and is owned by Josh and Amanda Wright along with Josh's grandpa
LC Nanney. We compete in the American Rabbit Hound Association's (ARHA's) Little Pack trials. Josh is the president
and Amanda is the Sec./Tres. of Bull Run Beagle Club also located in Beaver Dam. Since our first ARHA trial in
1998 we have made two Grand Rabbit Champions, one Grand Bench Champion, Rabbit Champions, and Bench Champions. We have
won two State Championships, several different club Hound of the Year awards, made the Hound of the Year top ten twice, placed
in several state hunts and have placed in some Big Five Trials.
Most of our beagles are both AKC and ARHA registered, but not any particular blood line. We feel that if a beagle
has what we call the three H's: heart, hunt, and the ability to "Hammer Down" we will not hesitate to try to add it to our
kennel or breeding program. We also believe that a beagle should be a hound that you enjoy pleasure running and
gun hunting first and competing second. It is important to us that we enjoy a trial whether we win or lose.
We have met a lot of great people and made a lot of friends since we started trialing and this is more important to us
than any trophy we have ever won! There is a lot of people that has helped us along the way and there is not enough
space here to thank them all, but you know who you are and again we say THANK YOU!!
